Mother Teresa

Women's History Month - March 10th

Mother Teresa was truly a selfless woman who put the needs of the world before her own. Over her time as a Catholic nun she opened and helped run over 500 missions in over 100 countries around the world. She used her deep religious beliefs to help people who were the most in need, and despite criticism for her traditional Catholic views, she responded by stating “No matter who says what, you should accept it with a smile and do your own work.” Her kind heart, matched with persistence, improved the lives of many and gained her an international legacy that continues to live on. She was awarded with a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and her life’s work was ultimately rewarded through beatification, giving her the title “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.”
